Hello, and welcome to Front Porch Animal Clinic! My name is Dr. Carla Gabel, and I am the owner of Front Porch Animal Clinic. This is a brand-new adventure for me, as I have wanted to be a practice owner my entire life.
I have been practicing veterinary medicine since I graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1995. I met and married my husband, Carl while in college. He is my biggest supporter; back then and now. We have 3 wonderful children. Two are in college and one is in high school. All three are animal lovers and have been active in my career their whole lives. We have a small farming and cattle operation that we run when we are not at our full-time careers. Our kids have benefitted by growing up in a farm/ranch environment. They have gained respect for open spaces and have built responsibility. Having a farm means there are quite a few animals around our place.
We have 3 dogs; all mixes. Hank is our 15-year-old cattle dog and is still going strong. Banjo is our 9-year-old dachshund/chihuahua mix. He is the head of ranch security! And then there is Sage; our border collie/cattle dog/boxer mix. We found her through New Hope Cattle Dog rescue. She is 2 years old and makes us laugh every day! We have a rescue cat as well; his name is Samuel. He loves the farm life and laying on the back of the couch. Our farm animals include: 2 goats that were 4-H projects but are now just big pets, horses, cows, their calves, numerous chickens, and to round it off a couple of guinea pigs. To say I like to spend my time with animals is an understatement.

I grew up on a ranch in southeastern Colorado. I knew in junior high I wanted to be a veterinarian and set my sights on that goal. I really enjoyed my time at Colorado State getting my degree in veterinary medicine. My first job took me to a mixed animal practice in Kansas. From there we moved back to Colorado and I worked at a small animal veterinary practice in Lyons. My next move brought me to Greeley. I have worked in the area since 2000, where we built our farm/ranch throughout this time.
The next phase in my career leads me to Front Porch Animal Clinic. I have wanted to own a veterinary practice since I was young. I like preventative medicine as well as surgery, but have a unique interest in dentistry. I value and enjoy the relationships I build with my clients the most, for that is what inspires me each day. Veterans, Military and Police animals hold a special and dear place in my heart as well. Front Porch Animal Clinic will be a place where you feel welcome and your pet can be comfortable. My team and I look forward to meeting you and providing quality pet care for all the furry members of your family.
